Chinese Academy of Social Sciences News (Reporter Gao Ying) On April 27, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held the third study (enlarged) meeting of the 2025 Party Theory Study Center Group, to deeply study and comprehend Xi Jinping’s economic thought, and to earnestly study and discuss Volume I of *Selected Works of Xi Jinping on the Economy*. President and Party Secretary Gao Xiang presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary Peng Jinhui, Vice President and Party Member Zhen Zhanmin, Head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission’s Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed at the Academy and Party Member Hang Yuanxiang, Secretary-General and Party Member Zhao Zhimin, and Vice President and Party Member Zhao Rui attended the meeting. Zhen Zhanmin delivered a key-note speech.

The meeting pointed out that studying and implementing Volume I of *Selected Works of Xi Jinping on the Economy* is an important political task, theoretical task, and academic task for the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It is necessary to persist in reading the original works, studying the original texts, and comprehending the principles, to deeply grasp the truth power and rich connotations of Xi Jinping’s economic thought, to deeply grasp the epochal characteristics, theoretical qualities, and practical might of Xi Jinping’s economic thought, and to effectively unify thought and action with the major decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee on economic work.

会议指出，学习贯彻《习近平经济文选》第一卷是中国社会科学院的重要政治任务、理论任务、学术任务。要坚持读原著、学原文、悟原理，深刻领悟习近平经济思想的真理力量和丰富内涵，深刻把握习近平经济思想的时代特征、理论特质和实践伟力，切实把思想和行动统一到党中央对经济工作的重大决策部署上来。

The meeting emphasized that all units under the Academy, especially the Economics Division, must always adhere to the correct political direction, and, in conjunction with the central inspection and rectification [1]1 Central inspection and rectification: A process by which the Central Committee of the CPC dispatches inspection teams to Party organizations at various levels to identify problems, followed by a mandated period of corrective action. and the in-depth implementation of the education and study of the Eight-Point Regulations [2]2 The Eight-Point Regulations: A set of rules issued by the CPC Central Committee in 2012 to curb bureaucracy, extravagance, and formalism among Party officials. of the Central Committee, must work hard to thoroughly study and deeply understand, and effectively transform the results of study into vivid practice that does one’s own work well and promotes the development of the cause. It is necessary to leverage our Academy’s advantages in economics disciplines and talent, to strengthen the holistic, systematic, and scholarly research and interpretation of Xi Jinping’s economic thought, and to strive to create a Chinese school of economic research. It is necessary to focus on overall, strategic, and forward-looking hot and difficult issues, strengthen topic selection and planning, and form high-quality decision-making and advisory results. It is necessary to deepen the reform of systems and mechanisms, strengthen the construction of the talent echelon, further enhance the quality and efficiency of organized scientific research, and contribute wisdom and strength to accelerating the construction of China’s independent economic knowledge system.

会议强调，院属各单位特别是经济学部必须始终坚持正确政治方向，结合中央巡视整改、深入贯彻中央八项规定精神学习教育，在学深悟透上下功夫，切实把学习成效转化为做好本职工作、推动事业发展的生动实践。要发挥我院经济学学科和人才优势，加强对习近平经济思想整体性、系统性、学理性研究阐释，努力打造经济学研究的中国学派。要围绕全局性、战略性、前瞻性热点难点问题，加强选题策划，形成高质量决策咨询成果。要深化体制机制改革，加强人才梯队建设，进一步提升有组织科研质效，为加快构建中国自主的经济学知识体系贡献智慧和力量。
