The history of the Communist Party of China over more than a century proves that a strong leadership core and scientific theoretical guidance have always been fundamental issues concerning the future and destiny of the Party and the country, as well as the success or failure of the Party’s and the people’s cause. Our Party’s establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and the establishment of the guiding position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, are major political achievements of the Party in the New Era. [1] Multiple essays in this book explain the theoretical basis, historical basis, practical basis, and great significance of the Two Establishments. The opening essay, “The Leadership Core of the Communist Party of China and Innovation Theory,” adheres to the integration of theory and practice, and the connection of history and reality. It deeply discusses that the formation of the Party’s leadership core and the creation of the Party’s innovation theory are intrinsically linked and organically unified. It argues that a Marxist party’s formation of a widely respected outstanding leader and the creation of a scientific theory that reveals laws and guides the path are significant signs of the party’s political and theoretical maturity, and also the fundamental guarantee of the party’s strength and unity. The author’s analysis and insights summarize the long-term historical experience of world socialism and our Party, reflect the fresh experience since the New Era, and provide beneficial theoretical inspiration for us to deeply understand the decisive significance of the Two Establishments and resolutely achieve the Two Upholds. This is also the first time our Party has used the “century” as a yardstick to position the great achievement of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times. In essays such as “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is Marxism of the Twenty-First Century,” the author uses rigorous logic to explain this positioning from three aspects. First, it lies in the fact that the object of study of this important thought is a world-class great sample—the greatest Chinese sample of the eraization of global Marxism in the twenty-first century. Second, it lies in the fact that the theoretical value of this important thought has world significance—it provides a Chinese solution to the common problems facing humanity.
