Deepening the Systematic and Theoretical Research and Interpretation

Xi Jinping’s economic thought is an important component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the latest theoretical achievement in adapting Marxist political economy to the Chinese context and the needs of the times, and a systematic theoretical generalization of China’s practical experience in economic development during the New Era. Further deepening the systematic and theoretical research and interpretation of Xi Jinping’s economic thought is an inevitable requirement for advancing theoretical innovation and an inherent part of constructing an independent knowledge system for Chinese economics.

习近平经济思想是习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的重要组成部分，是马克思主义政治经济学中国化时代化的最新理论成果，是对新时代我国经济发展实践经验的系统化理论概括。进一步深化习近平经济思想的体系化学理化研究阐释，是推进理论创新的必然要求，也是构建中国经济学自主知识体系的应有之义。

Xi Jinping’s economic thought is the embodiment of the results of the Party Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, in continuously advancing theoretical innovation, practical innovation, and institutional innovation in the economic field, providing methodological guidance for constructing an independent knowledge system for Chinese economics. The Party’s innovative theory is a scientific system, logically rigorous, and organically unified whole; it is necessary to focus on strengthening systematic and theoretical research and interpretation, systematically sorting out its holistic and logical characteristics. It is essential to deeply study the relationship between Xi Jinping’s economic thought and Marxist economic theory—both inheriting from it and advancing with the times—systematically grasp and profoundly interpret its profound reasoning, deep academic principles, and rich philosophical foundations, thereby demonstrating the strong vitality, creativity, and appeal of the Party’s innovative theory.

习近平经济思想是以习近平同志为核心的党中央不断推进理论创新、实践创新、制度创新在经济领域的成果体现，为构建中国经济学自主知识体系提供了方法论指引。党的创新理论是一个科学系统、逻辑严密、有机统一的整体，要重点加强体系化学理化研究阐释，系统梳理其整体性逻辑性特征。要深入研究习近平经济思想与马克思主义经济理论既一脉相承又与时俱进的关系，系统掌握、深刻阐释其中的深刻道理、深邃学理、深厚哲理，彰显党的创新理论的强大生命力、创造力、感召力。

The Party’s innovative theory originates from practice and guides practice; it must profoundly summarize the practical experience of promoting economic development in the New Era. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has been grounded in the overall strategy of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the changes unseen in a century, profoundly grasping new changes in the situation and new demands of practice, systematically summarizing China’s practical experience in economic development, continuously deepening the understanding of the laws governing economic work, and putting forward a series of new concepts, new ideas, and new strategies, leading China’s economic development to achieve historic accomplishments and undergo historic transformations. The balance, coordination, and sustainability of China’s economic development have been significantly enhanced; the country’s economic strength, scientific and technological strength, and comprehensive national power have reached new heights; and Chinese-path modernization has taken solid steps. The scientific connotation and practical requirements of Xi Jinping’s economic thought are constantly enriched and developed, guiding China’s economy to seize the initiative and win the future on the new great journey.

党的创新理论，源于实践又指导实践，必须深刻总结新时代推动经济发展的实践经验。党的十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的党中央立足中华民族伟大复兴战略全局和世界百年未有之大变局，深刻把握形势新变化和实践新要求，系统总结我国经济发展的实践经验，不断深化对经济工作的规律性认识，提出一系列新理念新思想新战略，引领我国经济发展取得历史性成就、发生历史性变革。我国经济发展平衡性、协调性、可持续性明显增强，国家经济实力、科技实力、综合国力跃上新台阶，中国式现代化迈出坚实步伐。习近平经济思想的科学内涵与实践要求不断丰富和发展，引领中国经济在新的伟大征程上赢得主动、赢得未来。

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC [1]1 The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC refers to the fourth plenary meeting of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, typically held to discuss major policy and theoretical issues. continued to designate high-quality development as the theme of economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period [2]2 The 14th Five-Year Plan period covers the years 2021–2025, outlining China’s economic and social development goals.. This requires us to further deeply understand and grasp Xi Jinping’s economic thought both in theory and in practice, to learn and use this “golden key” for promoting high-quality development well. It is necessary to elevate feasible measures that have been tested in practice and are conducive to promoting high-quality development to the level of theory and academic scholarship, to gather the wisdom and strength of the entire Party and the people of all ethnic groups across the country, and to ensure decisive progress in basically realizing socialist modernization.

党的二十届四中全会继续把推动高质量发展确定为“十五五”时期经济社会发展的主题，这就要求我们进一步在理论上、在实践中深刻理解和把握习近平经济思想，学好用好这个推动高质量发展的“金钥匙”。把实践中经过检验的有利于推动高质量发展的可行举措上升到理论高度和学理学术层面，凝聚全党全国各族人民的智慧和力量，确保基本实现社会主义现代化取得决定性进展。
