In his address, Pavlopoulos stated that the handover ceremony for the new office premises of the Chinese Institute of Classical Civilizations marks a historic moment and an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations. He pointed out that China and Greece are both ancient civilizations, and although they have faced many challenges, they have always been committed to maintaining peace and stability. Pavlopoulos emphasized that in recent years, Sino-Greek economic cooperation has developed rapidly and expanded in scale, yet cultural cooperation and exchange, especially in the fields of philosophy and mutual learning among civilizations, remain crucial. The establishment of the Chinese Institute of Classical Civilizations has become a bond between the spiritual civilizations of China and Greece and an important platform for mutual learning among civilizations. In today's turbulent and changing international environment, where dialogue is lacking, this institute bears the glorious mission of promoting exchange and mutual learning between Eastern and Western civilizations.

Lai Bo extended warm congratulations to the Chinese Institute of Classical Civilizations on its new premises, calling this another solid step forward in deepening Sino-Greek civilizational exchange and mutual learning. He stated that the institute should uphold the original aspiration of civilizational exchange and mutual learning, expand activities such as classical civilization research, archaeological excavation and interpretation, seminars and exchanges, and education and training, striving to build it into an international academic center for classical civilization research and create a "golden brand" for world classical civilization research. Together, they should seek the contemporary value of classical civilizations, promote the inheritance, development, and innovation of modern civilizations, and encourage the two great Eastern and Western civilizations to each appreciate their own beauty and share beauty together.

Konstantatos warmly welcomed the relocation of the Chinese Institute of Classical Civilizations to its new premises. He stated that during his visit to China, he deeply felt the rapid development of Chinese science and technology, and that many experiences are worth learning from for Greece. He expressed hope that the Chinese Institute of Classical Civilizations will play an active role in promoting cultural exchanges between the city of Elliniko and China, as well as in boosting local economic development. At the same time, he also called on Greek society to place greater importance on learning the Chinese language, so as to further enhance mutual understanding and friendly interaction between the two sides.

After the ceremony, the international symposium "Human Rights Wisdom in Classical Civilizations," the press conference on the achievements of the Key Laboratory of Scientific Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Protection of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the symposium and special exhibition "Opening the Door to Mutual Learning between Eastern and Western Civilizations" were held simultaneously.

The symposium "Human Rights Wisdom in Classical Civilizations" focused on the concept of "human rights" in classical civilizations, aiming to deeply explore the human rights wisdom contained in classical civilizations from the perspective of mutual learning among civilizations, so as to provide inspiration and reference for the protection of human rights in today's world. Chinese and foreign guests attending the symposium unanimously agreed that human rights are an important component of global civilization and a common goal pursued by all humanity. Defending and protecting human rights requires the joint participation of different civilizations and different countries, promoting the development of global human rights governance in a more fair, just, reasonable, and inclusive direction.

Four important achievements in Chinese scientific archaeology and cultural heritage protection were released at the event, reflecting the continuous breakthroughs of the Chinese archaeological community in interdisciplinary integration and technological innovation. These achievements not only demonstrate the deep mutual learning between Chinese civilization and world civilizations, but also showcase to Greece and the world the unique perspective of Chinese archaeology in research, interpretation, and historical understanding. Specifically, they include: the first complete restoration of a complex crown from the Tubo period [1]1 The Tubo period refers to the Tibetan Empire (7th–9th centuries CE), a major power in Central Asia that controlled parts of modern-day Qinghai and Tibet. found in Tomb No. 1 at Quangou in Qinghai Province; a Tang Dynasty [2]2 The Tang Dynasty (618–907 CE) was a Chinese imperial dynasty known for its cultural and economic flourishing and extensive foreign contacts. ceramic dragon-head architectural component unearthed at the site of the ancient city of Guzhou in Xiong'an; research results on bronze alloy technology based on the Erlitou site [3]3 The Erlitou site, located in Henan Province, is widely identified by Chinese archaeologists as a capital of the Xia Dynasty (c. 2070–1600 BCE), though this identification remains debated internationally.; and archaeobotanical evidence confirming the continuous utilization of native Chinese grape plant resources over several millennia.

The symposium "Opening the Door to Mutual Learning between Eastern and Western Civilizations" focused on showcasing China's latest progress in tracing the origins of civilization and classical studies. Chinese and Greek scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on exchanges and comparisons between Chinese and Western civilizations. Five Chinese scholars addressed topics including the creative spirit of the Chinese philosophical tradition embodied in the concept of "the realm of being and non-being," the formation of the Chinese written tradition, civilizational interaction reflected in the exchange of written languages, and China's in-depth research on Sanskrit and Indian civilization. This demonstrated the Chinese scholars' perspective of "world classical studies," reconstructing classical concepts through pluralistic dialogue and expanding the international horizons of classical studies. The thematic exhibition of the same name, through various forms such as long scrolls of time, 3D-printed artifacts, and illustrated panels, presented the deep interaction and value resonance between Chinese civilization and ancient Greek civilization in the course of history, highlighting the contemporary significance that "civilizations become richer through mutual learning."

This event was co-hosted by the China Society for Human Rights Studies, the Chinese Embassy in Greece, the Chinese Institute of Classical Civilizations, and the Greece-China Association. More than 80 people, including government officials, experts and scholars, and media representatives from both China and Greece, participated in various academic and cultural exchange activities.
