In the early 1990s, Cuban socialism fell into internal and external difficulties due to the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the drastic changes in Eastern Europe. After entering the “Special Period in Peacetime,” Cuba successively experienced historical stages such as crisis management, difficult recovery, the Battle of Ideas, and model renewal. Facing constantly changing world conditions, national conditions, and Party conditions, the Communist Party of Cuba has always adhered to the path of socialism with Cuban characteristics and has attempted to start from the theorization and institutionalization of model renewal, seeking new opportunities and a new stage for the development of Cuban socialism. At present, Cuba’s model renewal faces multiple tests in politics, the economy, society, and foreign relations. This book attempts, by sorting out the development trajectory of Cuban socialism after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the drastic changes in Eastern Europe, to summarize the basic experiences and characteristics of Cuba’s socialist economic construction and model renewal, and to analyze the globalization challenges and renewal prospects facing Cuban socialism.

20世纪90年代初，古巴社会主义因苏联解体和东欧剧变陷入内外交困。进入“和平时期特殊阶段”后，古巴先后经历了危机管理、艰难复苏、思想战和模式更新等历史阶段。面对不断变化的世情、国情和党情，古巴共产党始终坚守古巴特色社会主义道路，并试图从模式更新的理论化与制度化入手，寻求古巴社会主义发展的新机遇与新阶段。当前，古巴模式更新面临着政治、经济、社会及对外关系等多重考验。本书试图通过梳理苏联解体和东欧剧变后古巴社会主义的发展脉络，总结古巴社会主义经济建设与模式更新的基本经验与特点，探析古巴社会主义面临的全球化挑战和更新前景。

About the Author

作者简介

He Qin, Director and Associate Researcher of the Contemporary World Socialism Research Office, International Communist Movement Research Department, Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Main research directions include Marxism, socialism, and left-wing trends and movements in Spanish-speaking countries. She has published the sole-authored work *Latin America’s Alternative Integration Movement* and four co-authored works including *Cuba (A Survey of Countries)*, and has published over 40 academic papers, including “An Analysis of the Historical Origins and Essence of Latin America’s ‘21st Century Socialism’,” “The Theoretical Concerns and Development Trends of Spanish Marxism Since the 21st Century,” and “Cuba’s Experience and Insights in Responding to Population Aging.”

贺钦，中国社会科学院马克思主义研究院国际共产主义运动研究部当代世界社会主义研究室主任，副研究员。主要研究方向为西班牙语国家的马克思主义、社会主义及左翼思潮和运动。出版独著《拉丁美洲的替代一体化运动》和《古巴（列国志）》等合著4部，发表学术论文《试析拉美“21世纪社会主义”的历史源流及其本质》、《21世纪以来西班牙马克思主义的理论关切与发展趋向》及《古巴应对人口老龄化的经验与启思》等40余篇。
