The world is currently in a period of great change, great adjustment, and great transformation. Both capitalism and socialism are undergoing tremendous changes. Standing at a new historical starting point, it is necessary to observe and study the new patterns, new characteristics, and new trends in the development of world socialism from a global perspective and a historical perspective. This collection is compiled from papers on world socialist studies publicly published by the author over the past 20 years, representing a comprehensive work of the author’s many years of research on world socialism. The collection is divided into eight parts, discussing and analyzing the new patterns, new characteristics, and new trends of current world socialism, the changes in the balance of power between socialism and capitalism, the contributions of socialism with Chinese characteristics to world socialism and scientific socialism, the current status and development trends of socialist forces and communist parties in developed Western capitalist countries, the conditions of the Western working class, and issues such as Western market socialism, post-industrial socialism, and democratic socialism, from eight aspects: the new patterns and new characteristics of world socialism in the 21st century, socialism with Chinese characteristics and world socialism, the conditions and trends of the world socialist movement, the changes and adjustments of communist parties in Western European countries, the conditions and changes of the working class in Western countries, socialist ideologies and schools, the essence and transformation of democratic socialism, and the changes and prospects of the Western left.

当前世界处于大变革大调整大转型时期，资本主义和社会主义都经历着巨大的变化。站在新的历史起点上，需要用世界眼光和历史视野来观察研究世界社会主义发展的新格局、新特征和新趋势。本文集由作者近20年来公开发表的世界社会主义研究方面的论文汇编而成，是作者多年来从事世界社会主义研究的集大成之作。文集共分为八个部分，从21世纪世界社会主义新格局与新特点、中国特色社会主义与世界社会主义、世界社会主义运动状况与趋势、西欧国家共产党的变化与调整、西方国家工人阶级状况与变化、社会主义思潮与流派、民主社会主义的实质与蜕变、西方左翼的变化与前途八个方面论述分析了当前世界社会主义的新格局、新特征、新趋势，社会主义与资本主义的力量对比变化，中国特色社会主义对世界社会主义、科学社会主义的贡献，西方发达资本主义国家社会主义力量、共产党的现状和发展趋势，西方工人阶级的状况，西方市场社会主义、后工业社会主义以及民主社会主义等问题。

Author Biography

作者简介

Jiang Hui, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies, President of the Academy of Marxism, researcher, and doctoral supervisor. He concurrently serves as Executive Director of the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and Deputy Director of the World Socialism Research Center. He is a nationally recognized young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions, an expert enjoying the State Council Special Government Allowance, a member of the National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project, a cultural luminary and “Four Batches” talent [1]1 The “Four Batches” talent project is a Chinese national program to cultivate leading figures in publicity, culture, and ideological work., a leading talent in philosophy and social sciences under the National “Ten Thousand Talents Plan” [2]2 The “Ten Thousand Talents Plan” is a Chinese national program to cultivate high-level talents in philosophy, social sciences, and other fields., a member of the Advisory Committee of the Central Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project, a member of the Discipline Appraisal Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Scientific Socialism, and Vice President of the Chinese Society for the Study of the History of the Communist Party of China. He has long been engaged in research on Marxist theory, scientific socialism and the international communist movement, socialism with Chinese characteristics, and contemporary world socialism. He has published numerous monographs, translations, and edited works, and over 200 professional papers.

姜辉，中国社会科学院党组成员、当代中国研究所所长、马克思主义研究院院长，研究员, 博士生导师。兼任中国社会科学院习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想研究中心执行主任、中国特色社会主义理论体系研究中心主任、世界社会主义研究中心副主任。国家有突出贡献中青年专家，国务院政府特殊津贴专家，国家百千万人才，文化名家暨“四个一批”人才，国家“万人计划”哲学社会科学领军人才，中央马克思主义理论研究和建设工程咨询委员会委员，国务院学位委员会学科评议组成员，中国科学社会主义学会副会长、中国中共党史学会副会长。长期从事马克思主义理论、科学社会主义与国际共产主义运动、中国特色社会主义、当代世界社会主义研究，出版专著、译著、主编著作多部，发表专业论文200余篇。
