In Lenin’s view, “in a society based on class divisions, class struggle between hostile classes at a certain stage of its development inevitably develops into a political struggle. The most complete, most distinct and most consistent expression of the political struggle of classes is the struggle of parties.” [1]1 V. I. Lenin, *Collected Works*, vol. 10, p. 58 (approximate reference; the quotation is from Lenin’s “The Historical Destiny of the Doctrine of Karl Marx” or a similar text on the relation between parties and class struggle). The political building of the Party concerns the very life and death, the future and destiny of the Party. Lenin regarded the political building of the Party as a red thread running through the theory of the new-type proletarian party. Therefore, the thought on the political building of the Party formed on the basis of the theory of the new-type proletarian party under the guidance of Leninism is a monument in the history of socialist thought.

列宁党的政治建设思想是博大精深的列宁主义体系尤其是列宁新型无产阶级政党理论的重要组成部分。党的政治建设思想是列宁新型无产阶级政党理论的精髓。在列宁看来，“在以阶级划分为基础的社会中，在一定的发展阶段上，敌对阶级之间的斗争势必发展成政治斗争。各阶级政治斗争的最严整、最完全和最明显的表现就是各政党的斗争。”党的政治建设关乎党的生死存亡和前途命运。列宁把党的政治建设作为贯穿于新型无产阶级政党理论的一条红线。因此,以列宁主义为指导在新型无产阶级政党理论基础上形成的列宁党的政治建设思想，是社会主义思想史上的一座丰碑。

The basic framework of Lenin’s thought on the political building of the Party, that is, its four beams and eight pillars, [2]2 “Four beams and eight pillars” (四梁八柱) is a Chinese architectural metaphor for a basic framework or main supporting structure, here applied to the theoretical system. is constituted by two “musts” and three “musts”: the advanced nature of the Communist Party must be upheld; the Party’s democratic centralism must be upheld; resolute struggle must be waged against erroneous tendencies inside and outside the Party; the authority of the Party Central Committee and the Party leader must be upheld; and the leading position of the Party in the state and social life must be upheld. Lenin’s political building of the Party possesses important functions, basic principles, fundamental characteristics, and methodological implications. This is Lenin’s major development of Marx and Engels’ theory of Party building, and it is a precious intellectual legacy that Lenin left to later communists of all countries.

列宁党的政治建设思想的基本框架即四梁、八柱，是由2个“必须”、3个“要”构成：必须坚持共产党的先进性、必须坚持党的民主集中制、要同党内外存在的错误倾向作坚决斗争、要维护党中央和党的领袖的权威、要坚持党在国家和社会生活中的领导地位。列宁党的政治建设具有重要功能、基本原则、基本特征、方法论意蕴。这是列宁对马克思恩格斯建党学说的重大发展，是列宁留给后来各国共产党人的宝贵思想财富。

In the process of leading the Chinese people in revolution, construction, and reform, that is, social revolution, the Communist Party of China has taken Lenin’s thought on the political building of the Party as its guide and continuously advanced the great project of Party building, that is, self-revolution. This is a vivid manifestation of the fact that Chinese communists have always adhered to the guidance of Marxism-Leninism and have the courage to transform both the objective world and the subjective world.

中国共产党在领导中国人民进行革命、建设和改革即社会革命过程中，以列宁党的政治建设思想为指南，不断推进党的建设伟大工程即自我革命。这是中国共产党人始终坚持以马克思列宁主义为指导,勇于改造客观世界和主观世界的生动体现。

Fan Xin, Associate Researcher at the Academy of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Doctor of Law, Master’s supervisor. He has presided over more than ten projects, including the National Social Science Fund, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Basic Research Scholar Funding Project, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Marxist Theory Project, the key project of the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences New Era Party Building Research Center, and the Chinese Communist Party Inspection and Supervision Theory Research Center. He has participated in projects such as major projects of the National Social Science Fund Special Project, major projects of the National Social Science Fund, general projects of the National Social Science Fund, and projects commissioned by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee. He has published over 60 papers, including more than 30 in core journals. He has published 3 monographs and co-authored 5 works. His published results have been fully or partially reprinted by *Chinese Social Sciences Digest*, the Replicated Journal Materials of Renmin University of China, and *China Discipline Inspection and Supervision Daily*. He has received the Ministry of Education’s Doctoral Academic Newcomer Award and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Excellent Countermeasure Information Award. He has independently won the Heilongjiang Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, among others. He currently serves as an Executive Director of the Lenin Thought Research Association (National) and a Director of the China Atheism Society.
