Ideological and political course teaching should deeply explain the achievements of socialist economic construction with Chinese characteristics from the academic and philosophical levels, and explain that the institutional code behind China becoming the main engine of world economic development is adhering to and improving the basic socialist economic system with Chinese characteristics. Guided by Xi Jinping’s economic thought, adhere to and implement “unswervingly consolidate and develop the public sector of the economy, and unswervingly encourage, support, and guide the development of the non-public sector of the economy” [3], build a high-level socialist market economy system, take the reform of the socialist market economy system as the driving force, give full play to the decisive role of the market in resource allocation, better play the role of an “effective government” and an “efficient market”, build systems and mechanisms to support comprehensive innovation, and promote high-quality economic development. Based on the new stage of further deepening reform comprehensively and advancing Chinese-path modernization, it is necessary to implement the new development concept, build a unified domestic large market, construct a new development pattern with domestic circulation as the main body and domestic and international dual circulations promoting each other, and build an open, innovative, linked, inclusive, and shared world economy. Young students should, in the synchronous interweaving of the “two overall situations” [4], take Xi Jinping’s economic thought as guidance, and deeply grasp the relationship between China and the world, and the era value and world significance of building a high-level socialist market economy system.

It is conducive to making the system of the people being the masters of the country more complete and the development of consultative democracy at multiple levels and in an institutionalized manner. It has made important explorations, provided a Chinese solution, and made Chinese contributions to the development of human political civilization. Integrating “focus on developing whole-process people’s democracy” into the teaching of ideological and political courses in colleges and universities is conducive to young students systematically grasping its scientific connotation and enhancing their confidence in China’s socialist political development path.

Perfecting the income distribution system, improving the employment-first policy, strengthening the social security system, deepening the reform of the medical and health system, improving the support and service system for population development, and enhancing the balance and accessibility of basic public services are important measures for improving the quality of life of the people, conducive to enhancing the people’s sense of happiness and promoting the comprehensive development of the individual. Comprehensively implementing the holistic view of national security, perfecting the national security system, innovating the systems, mechanisms, and means of social governance, and effectively constructing a new security framework are conducive to enhancing the people’s sense of security and belonging. Integrating “improving the quality of life of the people and building a higher-level Peaceful China” into the teaching of ideological and political courses is conducive to young students enhancing their sense of happiness, security, and pride as Chinese people.

Strengthening the Party’s comprehensive leadership over the construction of an ecological civilization, perfecting the ecological environment governance system, transforming the building of a Beautiful China into the people’s conscious action and way of life, and providing Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions for global ecological governance and the building of a beautiful world. Therefore, integrating “building a Beautiful China” into ideological and political courses in higher education is a necessary move.
