Using Red Resources to Strengthen the Fighting Spirit of Young Cadres

Red resources are the testimony of our Party’s arduous and glorious struggle and are the most precious spiritual wealth. General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the protection and utilization of red resources, stating that “every historical event, every revolutionary hero, every revolutionary spirit, and every revolutionary cultural relic represents the glorious course our Party has traversed and the major achievements it has made, showcasing our Party’s dreams and pursuits, feelings and responsibilities, sacrifices and contributions, converging into our Party’s red bloodline,” and requiring that we “fully utilize red resources to educate and guide the vast number of Party members and cadres to strengthen their ideals and convictions, consolidate their original aspiration and founding mission, and continuously enhance their fighting spirit and improve their fighting skills.” [1] Young cadres are the fresh force for the development of the cause of the Party and the state; making good use of red resources is an important lever for strengthening the fighting spirit of young cadres in the New Era. We should deeply excavate the historical value, cultural value, and contemporary value of red resources, continuously guiding young cadres to strengthen their fighting spirit in bearing heavy burdens, working hard and doing solid work, and overcoming difficulties, and to continuously open up new prospects in their work by facing problems head-on and solving difficult problems.

红色资源是我们党艰辛而辉煌奋斗历程的见证，是最宝贵的精神财富。习近平总书记高度重视红色资源保护利用工作，提出“每一个历史事件、每一位革命英雄、每一种革命精神、每一件革命文物，都代表着我们党走过的光辉历程、取得的重大成就，展现了我们党的梦想和追求、情怀和担当、牺牲和奉献，汇聚成我们党的红色血脉”，要求“充分运用红色资源，教育引导广大党员、干部坚定理想信念、筑牢初心使命，不断增强斗争精神、提高斗争本领”。年轻干部是党和国家事业发展的生力军，用好红色资源是增强新时代年轻干部斗争精神的重要抓手。应深入挖掘红色资源的历史价值、文化价值和时代价值，不断引导年轻干部在知重负重、苦干实干、攻坚克难中增强斗争精神，在直面问题、破解难题中不断打开工作新局面。

Strengthen fighting consciousness through historical events. The gestation, formation, and development of red resources are closely linked to the history of the Chinese nation’s struggle for national salvation from extinction, and to the large and small historical events within this process. These historical events are the carriers and crystallization of our Party’s fine traditions and revolutionary spirit, enabling us to understand that great struggle is closely related to the survival and development of every individual, to the peace and strength of the country, and to the rise and fall of the nation, thereby inspiring the sense of responsibility and mission of the masses, especially young cadres in the New Era, to dare to struggle and dare to win. To strengthen young cadres’ fighting consciousness through historical events, we must adhere to the viewpoint of interconnection, placing them within the entire process of the development of the whole country, the nation, and even all of humanity, examining the coherence and logic of historical events against the broader backdrop. At the same time, grasp the relationship between history, reality, and the future, take facts as the basis, analyze the background, significance, and impact of historical events on the foundation of mastering detailed and reliable historical materials, and examine historical figures within objective social-historical relations. Only by forming a correct understanding of historical events can we truly comprehend the great choices the Party made at different historical stages, can we elevate the cognition of the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics from the perceptual to the rational, and promote ideological and political education to “adapt to events and transform accordingly.” [2]

以历史事件增强斗争意识。红色资源的孕育、形成、发展，与中华民族救亡图存的历史紧密相连，与这一过程中大大小小的历史事件紧密相连。这些历史事件，是我们党优良传统与革命精神的载体和结晶，使我们懂得伟大斗争与每个人的生存发展密切相关，与国家的安宁强盛密切相关，与民族的兴衰存亡密切相关，从而能够激发起人民群众尤其是新时代年轻干部敢于斗争、敢于胜利的责任感、使命感。以历史事件增强年轻干部的斗争意识，要坚持联系的观点，将其放置于整个国家、民族乃至全人类发展的全过程，在大背景下考察历史事件的连贯性和逻辑性。同时，把握历史、现实与未来的关系，以事实为依据，在掌握翔实可靠的历史资料基础上分析历史事件的背景、意义和影响，在客观的社会历史关系中考察历史人物。唯有对历史事件形成正确的认知，才能真正理解在不同历史阶段党作出的伟大抉择，才能将对中国特色社会主义伟大事业的认知从感性上升到理性，推动思想政治教育“因事而化”。

以革命英雄砥砺斗争意志。英雄是民族最闪亮的坐标。习近平总书记指出，“营造崇尚英雄、学习英雄、捍卫英雄、关爱英雄的浓厚氛围”，“年轻干部要以先辈先烈为镜、以反面典型为戒，不断筑牢信仰之基、补足精神之钙、把稳思想之舵，以坚定的理想信念砥砺对党的赤诚忠心”。崇尚英雄才会产生英雄，争做英雄才能英雄辈出。引导年轻干部筑牢理想信念根基，守住拒腐防变防线，树立和践行正确政绩观，练就过硬本领，增强斗争的志气、骨气、底气，就要向英雄学习、向前辈学习、向榜样学习，树立不负人民的家国情怀，追求高尚纯粹的思想境界，为党和人民事业拼搏奉献。在中国革命、建设、改革的各个历史时期，涌现出无数感天动地的英雄模范，他们顽强拼搏、不懈奋斗，用智慧和汗水，甚至鲜血和生命，为民族独立和人民解放，为国家富强和人民幸福，谱写了名垂青史、彪炳千秋的壮丽篇章。铭记英雄人物，以英雄人物砥砺年轻干部的斗争意志，就要弘扬英雄人物的忠诚品格，始终把忠诚作为根本的政治担当和事业之魂；就要弘扬英雄人物的执着品格，既要敢于担当、勇于担责，又要勇于作为、善于作为；就要弘扬英雄人物的朴实品格，时刻保持对党和人民事业的敬畏之心，一茬接着一茬干，一张蓝图干到底。

Condensing fighting strength through the revolutionary spirit. A person cannot stand without spirit; a nation cannot be strong without spirit. Generations of Chinese Communists, fearing no difficulties or obstacles, facing risks and challenges head-on, have fought tenaciously and striven unremittingly, demonstrating a great historical initiative, constructing the spiritual lineage of Chinese Communists, and forming the Party’s glorious traditions. The revolutionary spirit transcends time and is never outdated; it centrally embodies the Party’s firm convictions, fundamental purposes, and fine work style, condenses the great character of Chinese Communists in overcoming difficulties, sacrificing and dedicating themselves, and forging ahead, and is deeply integrated into the bloodline of our Party, nation, ethnicity, and people, providing rich nourishment for our Party’s establishment, development, and strengthening. General Secretary Xi Jinping points out, “Promote the spiritual lineage of Chinese Communists originating from the great founding spirit of the Party, make good use of red resources, deeply carry out education and publicity on the core socialist values, deepen education on patriotism, collectivism, and socialism, and strive to cultivate a new generation capable of shouldering the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.” [1] To condense the fighting strength of young cadres through the revolutionary spirit, it is necessary to always adhere to the people-centered development philosophy, start from the most difficult groups and the most prominent issues, promptly respond to the demands and expectations of the people, adopt more measures that benefit people’s livelihoods and warm their hearts, and exchange the “index of hardship” for the people’s “index of happiness”; forever maintain the distinctive character of self-revolution, use the spirit of self-revolution to strengthen work style and fortify the body, comprehensively advance the Party’s self-purification, self-improvement, self-renewal, and self-enhancement; continuously draw nourishment from the revolutionary spirit, undergo tempering in strict inner-Party political life, elevate ideological realms, and enhance the motivation to grasp reality and work hard in obscurity.

以革命精神凝聚斗争力量。人无精神则不立，国无精神则不强。一代又一代中国共产党人不畏艰难险阻、直面风险挑战，顽强拼搏、不懈奋斗，展现出伟大的历史主动精神，构建起中国共产党人的精神谱系，形成了党的光荣传统。革命精神跨越时空、永不过时，集中体现了党的坚定信念、根本宗旨、优良作风，凝聚着中国共产党人攻坚克难、牺牲奉献、开拓进取的伟大品格，深深融入我们党、国家、民族、人民的血脉之中，为我们立党兴党强党提供了丰厚滋养。习近平总书记指出，“弘扬以伟大建党精神为源头的中国共产党人精神谱系，用好红色资源，深入开展社会主义核心价值观宣传教育，深化爱国主义、集体主义、社会主义教育，着力培养担当民族复兴大任的时代新人”。以革命精神凝聚年轻干部的斗争力量，就要始终坚持以人民为中心的发展思想，从最困难的群体和最突出的问题抓起，及时回应人民群众诉求和期盼，采取更多惠民生、暖民心举措，用“辛苦指数”换来群众的“幸福指数”；永葆自我革命的鲜明品格，以自我革命精神强作风、壮肌体，全面推进党的自我净化、自我完善、自我革新、自我提高；不断从革命精神中汲取滋养，在严格的党内政治生活中经受淬炼，提升思想境界，增强真抓实干、埋头苦干的动力。

以革命文物滋养斗争智慧。革命文物是我们传承红色基因、汇聚担当力量的鲜活教材。习近平总书记指出，“各级党委和政府要把革命文物保护利用工作列入重要议事日程，加大工作力度，切实把革命文物保护好、管理好、运用好，发挥好革命文物在党史学习教育、革命传统教育、爱国主义教育等方面的重要作用，激发广大干部群众的精神力量”。实践中，应在系统总结革命文物保护规律的基础上，深入开展红色资源专项调查，实现从抢救性保护向预防性保护转变、从文物本体保护向文物本体与周边环境一体保护转变，确保革命文物的历史真实性、风貌完整性和文化延续性。善于运用现代科技手段，以情景模拟、观众互动等多样化方式，再现重大历史事件和场景，营造直观逼真的效果，增强视觉冲击力，让观众身临其境感受红色历史、体验精神震撼。把革命文化教育与领导干部廉政教育结合起来，深度挖掘革命文化中的廉洁教育元素，在红色文化场所设立廉政教育基地，淬炼领导干部公而忘私、甘于奉献、勇于担当的高尚品格。加强对革命文物所承载历史的研究，以物见史、以小见大，深刻揭示革命历史的发展进程，增加传播内容深度，引发受众共鸣，滋养党员干部斗争智慧，引导其以实际行动肩负起实现中华民族伟大复兴的历史重任。
