The meeting pointed out that ideological and political work is our Party’s fine tradition, distinctive characteristic, and prominent political advantage, and is the lifeline of all work. It is necessary to deeply study and comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on strengthening and improving ideological and political work, deeply grasp the extreme importance and key tasks of ideological and political work in the New Era, effectively improve work capability, further enhance pertinence and effectiveness, continuously promote ideological and political work in the New Era to uphold fundamental principles and break new ground [1]1 “Uphold fundamental principles and break new ground” (守正创新) is a key concept in contemporary Chinese political discourse, referring to the need to maintain core principles of socialism while innovating in methods and practice., and effectively elevate the quality and level of our Academy’s ideological and political work.

会议指出，思想政治工作是我们党的优良传统、鲜明特色和突出政治优势，是一切工作的生命线。要深入学习领会习近平总书记关于加强和改进思想政治工作的重要论述，深刻把握新时代思想政治工作的极端重要性和重点任务，切实提高工作本领，进一步增强针对性、实效性，不断推动新时代思想政治工作守正创新，有效提升我院思想政治工作质量和水平。

The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on doing a good job of the Party’s united front work in the New Era is an important component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, profoundly answering major theoretical and practical questions such as why the New Era needs a united front, what kind of united front it needs, and how to consolidate and develop the united front, providing a powerful ideological weapon for uniting and rallying forces from all sides to accomplish the Party’s mission and tasks on the new journey of the New Era. It is necessary to deeply understand the theoretical characteristics, rich connotations, and practical requirements of this important thought, ensuring that the Party Central Committee’s decisions and deployments regarding united front work are implemented and take root in our Academy.

会议指出，习近平总书记关于做好新时代党的统一战线工作的重要思想是习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的重要组成部分，深刻回答了新时代为什么需要统一战线、需要什么样的统一战线、怎样巩固发展统一战线等重大理论和实践问题，为团结凝聚各方面力量完成新时代新征程党的使命任务提供了强大思想武器。要深刻认识这一重要思想的理论特质、丰富内涵和实践要求，确保党中央关于统战工作的决策部署在我院落实落地。

The meeting emphasized that the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is a political organ with scientific research as its central work. It must take studying and elucidating Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its primary task, accelerate the construction of a basic theoretical system of disciplines guided by this important thought, and unswervingly be a faithful believer, conscious practitioner, and firm defender of this important thought. All subordinate units of the Academy must further strengthen political guidance and ideological guidance, earnestly conduct ideological and political work and united front work, practically strengthen the construction of the talent team, deepen the construction of work style, and continuously improve the ability and level of serving the overall work of the Party and the state. It is necessary to meticulously implement the rectification requirements of the central inspection tours [2]2 “Central inspection tours” (中央巡视) refer to the disciplinary inspection system where teams dispatched by the Party Central Committee conduct oversight of lower-level Party organizations to enforce Party discipline and policy compliance., solidly and steadily advance the key rectification tasks for societies, associations, foundations, non-entity research centers, enterprises, etc., and implement political loyalty throughout the entire process and all aspects of the inspection rectification work.

会议强调，中国社会科学院是以科研为中心工作的政治机关，要把研究阐释好习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想作为首要任务，加快构建以这一重要思想为指导的学科基础理论体系，毫不动摇地做这一重要思想的忠实信仰者、自觉践行者、坚定捍卫者。院属各单位要进一步强化政治引领和思想引领，认真做好思想政治工作、统战工作，切实加强人才队伍建设，深化作风建设，不断提高服务党和国家工作大局的能力和水平。要一丝不苟落实好中央巡视整改要求，扎实稳妥推进学会、社团、基金会、非实体研究中心、企业等整改重点任务，把政治忠诚落实到巡视整改工作全过程各方面。
