General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during the 17th collective study session of the Political Bureau of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC: “Attach importance to leveraging the role of culture in nurturing aspirations and cultivating sentiments, and fostering an uplifting and enterprising spiritual temperament for the entire nation.” The strength of a socialist cultural power with Chinese characteristics is centrally manifested in the ideological realm, spiritual state, and cultural cultivation of its people. Fully leveraging the important role of culture in nurturing aspirations and cultivating sentiments, and deeply advancing the use of culture to educate and transform people, is both an inherent requirement for building a cultural power and a practical necessity for responding to changes unseen in a century and enhancing developmental stability.
